I finally made it yesterday in Santa Clara. My flight on Saturday got cancelled, so I missed the party on Sunday at Marten Mickos’ place.. I really looked forward to that, well maybe next year! Today, Monday, the first day, it started nicely with breakfast meeting lots of colleagues and getting registered. We got a small bag with some spa.. flyers, and stuff. The coffee is good. At least I’m awake.
Xing becomes my favorite
From the my-opinion-might-suck-but-I-say-it-anyway department.. I’m currently using Xing and LinkedIn, and I must say I do like Xing more. Yeah, it’s European! That’s already an important factor for me. But the website is just a tick smoother and nicer structured than its older cousin. Anyway, wanne get Xinged? Ask me! I’m not the inviting type, don’t want to bother people with these community websites. But being on both Xing and LinkedIn is good for.
WebMontag in Nürnberg, Germany
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend yet another WebMontag session in Nürnberg this time. Somehow I’m getting a taste for it. The venue this time was not a concert hall, but a meeting room at NIK (de), an organization helping businesses and start ups (it’s more than that really). Free drinks, beamer, and a good crowd! The show started at 18:00 and people were already discussing stuff. I thought I was to late, but at 18:45 we started with a welcoming speech and going around the big table so everyone can introduce himself.
WebMontag in Frankfurt am Main, Germany
I drafted some blog entry about last week’s WebMontag (de) session in Frankfurt am Main but somehow I managed forgetting posting it. It was my first experience with the WebMontag events, so I didn’t really know what to expect. However, I’m happy I attended and talked there! The venue, Brotfabrik, is already worth mentioning. Picking up Pierre Kerchner (de) by car, we bumped into Dirk Friedenberger (de) arriving: always good to know people first time going somewhere.
An advantage of EU is..
An advantage of EU is that you can buy mussels in Belgium and legally smuggle then to Germany! Yummy!
